COURSE DESCRIPTION

Construction in, under, over, and adjacent to waterbodies is commonplace. It is also commonplace for environmental and engineering professionals and technicians to be involved in the planning, design, construction, and environmental management of infrastructure development projects in and around water. From this involvement has emerged procedures to avoid or mitigate impacts to environmental resources when working in or about waterbodies.

Environmental Field Procedures for Works In and About Water Practitioner (EFPP™) describes construction procedures commonly used for construction in and about waterbodies by presenting their respective applications, planning considerations, design requirements, field implementation procedures, and advantages/limitations.

The goal of Environmental Field Procedures for Works In and About Water Practitioner is to provide participants with reference material and a practical knowledge base for providing sound professional and technical advice and in-the-field services to project proponents, contractors, and government regulators for construction activities in and about water. The course content will engage all stakeholders (project proponents, engineering and environmental professionals, environmental and engineering technicians, construction contractors, and regulators) involved in such projects.

This training course combines lectures with practical exercises. The environmental procedures discussed and applied in this course are immediately applicable to construction projects in and about water.
